m.m.m. and 2010

I'm such a sucker for the classic fashion houses that have dressed and transformed women over the years long before I existed. Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent have always been my favorites. But it's time to look towards the future and the new coming year. I'm definitely looking for some new inspiration and perspective. So happy holidays everyone and especially a HAPPY NEW YEAR! I leave you with a video of Maison Martin Margiela, a fashion house constantly looking towards the future. Good luck to everyone's New Year's resolutions, it's going to be a GREAT year! :)

It's that time of the year when every blogger posts one of these.
Why is it necessary? Possibly because the longer we stare at it, we're able to convince ourselves the price is worth it and that it's a good investment.

pretty punky.

I know I'm finally joining the body jewelry bandwagon but hey I'm in Hawaii, we're a little (A LOT***) behind on everything especially fashion trends. I might even be a little too ahead of myself on this one maybe??.... NAHHHHHH. fashiontoast's rumi neely wears these things so well. and park & cube girl has an awesome little DIY tutorial for this one, which I'll probably get around to doing.... never. Anyway, here's a little lookbook of all of Litter SF's freakin awesome jewelry line which I have always admired, especially the leg chain garters (HOT!). Totally DIY possible, I think. Who says punk can't be pretty?

please forgive me.

Ok, ummmm all i can say is I'M SO SORRY, PLEASE FORGIVE ME! Laziness, fashion month (which I hope you all followed on Style.com), thanksgiving eateries, halloween craziness and work have kept me in a state of frenzy. Yes, laziness drives me into a crazy state. But fear not, I have continued to keep up with my share of daily blog reading list, magazines, etc... and I have a whole bunch of inspiration and creativity to share with you.

All my latest obsessions are scattered below in no particular order because I absolutely love it all. Hopefully I can make up my absence with an uber long post. Besides work, I've been giving a shot at some styling working with a photographer friend who is beginning to introduce himself to the fashion photography world. Who better than to help him out than someone obsessed with clothes? ME :D... ok, annoying, moving on... it's only the beginning so try not to be too harsh (I'm openly sensitive about what I'm doing yet I'm curious to see the response. hehe). Looking forward to projects during Christmas time! Got some new outfits too. Woo! K, I'm turkey-stuffed. Will be knocking out in 5...4...3....2.... zzzzZZZz.

ode to the recessionista

This has got to be one of my favorite editorials so far this season.
1) because my girl Sasha P. is in the house! (haha, ignore my wannabe-ghettoness)
2) shows that almost anything can be turned into clothing and then be put into a top-dollar magazine
3) and because it is aware of our world's economical changes and makes it still ok to wear thousand-dollar furs, shoes, and socks anyway.

Here are my top picks from the editorial because the shopping bags actually become accessories or articles of clothing, but the full editorial can be found in this month's W or here!
